This post contains links that will compensate me in a small way if you sign up. I’ll indicate where. I have NOT been paid for my review of these sites. I use them personally and I endorse them wholeheartedly. All opinions are 100% mine. NONE of the following sites even know who I am aside from being one of their millions of users. I cannot vouch for the reliability of any sites mentioned in the comments section – proceed with caution.

So, now that you’re an expert at saving in your local stores, we’ll talk about saving online. I’ll fully admit to you that I don’t do a ton of online shopping, but when I do, I do my best to save as much money as possible. Here’s how:

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

*By clicking on the Ebates logo above, signing up (FREE), and making a purchase I will be compensated a few dollars for referring a new member. Just a heads up.

I can say with confidence that I never shop online without going through Ebates first. As I said in the disclaimer above, I endorse them wholeheartedly. Basically, it’s a portal that allows you to earn cash back on your online purchases. Signing up is completely free. (In almost 2 years of being a member, I’ve never been charged any fees whatsoever.) Once you sign up all you have to do is search for the store you’re looking for and click on the Ebates link to their site.

Search for the store you want, then click Shop Now to go to their site.

You shop as you normally would, but you get a percentage of your purchase price refunded to you through Ebates. They issue refund checks quarterly. So far I’ve been refunded about $60.00. Remember though, I said that I don’t shop online all that much. If you shop primarily online this could save you a lot of money. Best part? You can still use coupon codes at check out! Your cash back is the gravy on the savings mashed potatoes! Ebates even alerts me of great sales and shares coupon codes on their site so I don’t have to go hunt ’em down elsewhere. Ebates + coupon codes + cash back = BIG savings.

Next up, you can earn money while you search the web by using Swagbucks.

Search & Win

By clicking the above picture and signing up, I’ll earn bonus Swagbucks (not cash) that I can use to purchase giftards for FREE. Just FYI.

Swagbucks is also FREE (would I do anything else?) and gives you many, many opportunities to earn Swagbucks (points) that you can cash in for prizes or store giftcards. I generally use my Swagbucks to purchase Amazon.com giftcards. It only takes 450 Swagbucks to earn a $5.00 gift card from Amazon and if you’re diligent you can earn 450 Swagbucks in about 2 weeks just by searching the internet from their website. You can also earn by participating in surveys, taking their daily poll, and playing web games, just to name a few. Everything is completely optional. What you do earn is completely up to you. They do offer bonus Swagbucks for purchasing things from sponsors. I’ve earned a few giftcards in the past 2 years – without purchasing a thing.

Oooh and one more thing about Swagbucks…you can print coupons from their site and use them at the grocery store like you would at any other coupon site, but by redeeming them you earn Swagbucks! This is a fairly new service but I’ve done it and my bestie does it and we’ve had no issues thusfar.

So, say you earn two $5 Amazon cards per month. Ten bucks doesn’t sound like a lot, does it? Well consider this, that would add up to about $120 bucks per year. That’s $120 bucks you don’t have to shell out of pocket on Christmas gifts next year. Sounds great to me!

Both Ebates and Swagbucks reward you for referring friends too!

OK, now let’s talk about some other sites.

First up, 6pm.com.

6pm.com is kind of like an online outlet store. They sell big name, name brand clothing at steep discounts. I’ve used them and I can tell you that their service is great and their shipping is incredible. I got my order in record time. I was super impressed.

Lastly, there are sites called “flash sale sites” that sell only a very limited selection of items per day, but those items are very steeply discounted. There are many, many out there these days. I can’t vouch for all of them because, well, I haven’t used all of them – so make sure you read the fine print before purchasing.

As a crafter though, I can totally vouch for how awesome Scrapbook Steals is. I’ve used them. They sell scrapping and paper crafting supplies for super cheap. Their shipping is super fast and very reasonably priced. They’re actually part of a network of sites called the Steals Network and they have sister sites for baby clothing and supplies, kids items, and women’s clothing and accessories.

Another great flash sales site for crafting/home dec and apparel is Pick Your Plum. They offer one item/type of item per day and when it’s gone it’s gone! I’ve used them once or twice and I have been totally impressed with their customer service and shipping time.

One more thing…a PS if you will. At the very least, when shopping online, make sure you search for online coupon codes before placing your order. Sites like RetailMeNot.com gather coupon codes from around the web to help you save as much as possible, and remember, you can use coupon codes even when purchasing from a site after going through Ebates. Double savings!
