Hey y’all! As part of our “catch up in June” goal, a few weeks ago I decided to turn this hot mess into a functional command center wall in our kitchen. Forgive the mess, we’d just torn apart the pantry too and things were a bit, well, a lot messy. I got started by patching and painting the wall in our favorite neutral, Behr’s Bungalow Beige. You can find it at Home Depot as part of their Home Decorator’s collection. We’re planning on remodeling the kitchen hopefully this year (hopefully…) so I didn’t paint the rest of the kitchen yet, which means it looks sort of wonky, but this end of the kitchen is lovely now! 😉 Over the last six months or so I’ve been collecting pieces for this wall. I didn’t want to buy a “set”. I wanted to break out of the mold I’m usually in and…
Going Paperless in the Kitchen
A few days ago, Katie from Gadanke.com posted a link to how she and her hubby Martin went paperless in their kitchen and it hit me that we’ve made some changes in our kitchen too – but we’ve yet to go paper towel-less. I love that they’re color coded and that they clean so thoroughly. Because of them, I no longer use paper towels to clean.Click Here for SourceNext up we have the Tekla towel from Ikea. It’s basically just a flour sack type towel but they are amazingly well made and…
Homemaker’s Challenge – Kitchen Reorganization
Hey y’all! I know it’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted and I gotta tell ya, I’ve been one busy girl. I’m a tutor “in real life” and I have been crazy busy. Add to that some personal business that needed to be taken care of and it’s been a mess over here. But I will tell you this: I have been so incredibly blessed by Homemaker’s Challenge – 31 Days to Clean. It has kicked me into high gear and I have needed that kick. This week I spent time catching up on the more “Martha” stuff…you know, the chores. One of the first things I tackled as a blogger was my kitchen, showing you how you can make a small (painfully small) rental kitchen functional. You can find more information on that here and here. They were two of my most successful posts ever! Who knew kitchen organization was such…
