Sometimes #fringehours means a snack and Netflix

Truth time. I’m going to admit that as much as I LOVED Jessica’s book The Fringe Hours (you can see my review here), old habits are hard to break.

I’ve been really busy with the VA thing and the blogging thing and the taking care of puppies and spring cleaning things and I’ve just been kind of overwhelmed with it all but…I’m still not taking time for myself.

know that I need to, but I don’t. Tell me I’m not alone in that. Sometimes life just happens and I think we just neglect ourselves in exchange for a To Do List. Kinda depressing if you think too long about it.

So, this week I’ve tried to make a concerted effort to at least get some downtime at lunch. It may only be a video on Netflix (I’m currently working my way through Murder, She Wrote…yes, really), but getting that 30 – 45 minutes away from work and household responsibilities has made a difference.

I’m going to keep working on breaking that habit of neglecting myself. What have you been doing to celebrate your fringe hours?

  1. I’ve been neglecting myself recently. Thank you for the nudge to take care of myself, Christina.

  2. Oh, I used to love that habit of putting my feet up with Netflix at lunchtime on my days off! Note to self: Must start that up again!

  3. I think you are so right. I have been thinking about this lately myself. How is it that it takes me two weeks to get through two chapters of a book? Crazy! Thanks for these wise words and for linking up to Tips and Tricks. Hope to see you again this week.

I’ll definitely be there. I’m glad I could encourage you. I hope you get some fringe time soon to finish that chapter. 😉
