As bloggers, we spend a lot of time talking and worrying about self-promotion – where to find the time, how to best promote, where to get the most mileage out of social media. It’s often un-ending.
If I’ve learned anything over the past year and a half of being a virtual assistant, it’s that continuous, all encompassing self-promotion is nearly impossible. Sorry, that’s the truth. It’s just not feasible to be on every social media platform every hour of every day.
At least not by yourself.
So, how do bloggers much bigger than I handle this? They have friends and they promote each other. This is not an industry where you can exist on a island by yourself. You need friends. You need people who are willing to share your projects and ideas.
Frankly, there are just too many social media outlets these days. You can’t rely on just one – so why are you relying on just yourself to get your message out there?
Big bloggers promote themselves – and their friends – a lot. Like day and night a lot. (We’ll get into that more next week.)
You need a group of people to share on your social media sites and to share your work for you on theirs.
What are you waiting for? Grab your blogging friends, create a spreadsheet and start submitting links to share daily. When and how often and where is up to you. But as they say at Nike “Just do it.”

Christina, I’m loving these tips you’re sharing. I’ve found my small group of blog friends to be such a huge help in my blogging life and real life. It’s wonderful to say that some of them have become real life friends, too. 🙂
I can’t wait until I’m in a place where I have tons of blogger friends! My blog is less than a month old, so I’m still working on it, but I’m excited. Great tips! Perfect for the newbie like me!
You’ll get there! Good luck with your blog! 🙂
