Hey guys! I am so excited today! Do you know why? No, it’s not the fact that I’m moving in, um, four days (yikes!), it’s because I get to give one lucky reader the gift of memory keeping with My Memories Digital Scrapbooking!
Anyone familiar with this blog knows I am a scrapbooking hoarder enthusiast. I’m kind of obsessed with paper crafting (and paper…). But I have a confession to make. For awhile now, I’ve been harboring the desire to betray my stash start digital scrapbooking, so I was insanely excited when Liz from My Memories contacted me about a product review. No really, if it hadn’t been incredibly late at night, I probably would have screamed. I settled for a “squee” on Facebook. Here’s proof:
Told ya.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I’m pretty passionate about my scrapbooking and I am always trying to encourage others to try it, but even with my enthusiasm, I was a little intimidated by digital scrapbooking. I honestly can’t afford some big, expensive photo editing software suite and I didn’t have time to learn something complicated. We just bought a house folks, we are crazy busy and broke. It’s not in the cards. But My Memories Suite is uh, $39.97. Can you believe that?!
I got mine for free in return for my review, but I’m not lying when I say I would have paid the $40. You get quite a bit of functionality and creativity for that forty dollars! It’s perfect for someone like me who wants to dip a toe or two into the water of digital scrapbooking and it really grows as you learn so it’s also fantastic for more advanced digi-scrappers (that’s what I’ll call you m’kay?). You can choose to use a template or create your own and really; the sky is the limit!
The software comes with digital papers and embellishments and you can purchase more from their online shop. I chose to make some cute, fun layouts just using the free stuff to show you what you can do. (Did I mention there’s a lot of free and inexpensive stuff? Because there is…oh so much.) Keep in mind that I’m still a newbie to all of this and because of the move, I haven’t had a ton of time to play. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
I threw together a fun, simple layout for our day at Camden Yards. |
I created a neato Facebook Timeline cover photo. I’m still dying over that herringbone. Can we just start the “herringbone is the new chevron” campaign right now? |
Here’s one I created using the Moving Day kit I purchased (for $3.99!):
I’ll continue to work on this album after our move. I’m steadily taking pictures and will make this my first big digital scrapbooking project. |
Cute right? And so easy to use. It’s just point and click! Love it.
